Drawing from the ancient Buddhist tradition, new studio project The Buddha Visions creates cathartic and emotionally intense music to lift the spirits and bring the listener into closer contact with the deeper sides of the human psyche and the broader universe.
Songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Luis has created an eclectic mix, by combining dramatic alt-rock production with curveball choices of instrument and a strong sense of emotional balance. The Buddha Visions is more than an attention-grabbing name, and the project is built on the deep tradition of the balance of (seemingly) different energies in the universe. With both light and dark elements, The Buddha Visions proves deep, haunting songs are equally uplifting when looked at from the right angle. In the phrasing of the last track on the upcoming debut EP “Fall Away”, The Buddha Visions celebrates saying yes to everything in life. And with its modern style of music fluctuating heavily between bubble-gum pop and electronic music, from esoteric ballads to hard rock, The Buddha Visions provides a refreshing, non-dualist alternative which carries intense emotion without classifying or judging it.
Luis takes from the more sophisticated side of alt-rock, drawing inspiration from acts like The Divine Comedy, Scott Walker, Radiohead, David Bowie and others. The Buddha Visions broadens the boundaries of alternative rock with a Zen-inspired, non-judgmental musical attitude. This is a deeply spiritual project without being obviously so, and with heavy guitars as well as quieter and more mellow moments, The Buddha Visions honors the wisdom and complexity of the universe with poignant melodies, proving music doesn't always have to be major to lift the spirits.
